Troop 273 is chartered out of Christ Lutheran Church in Vernon Hills, Illinois – attracting youth ranging from the fifth grade through high school from the contiguous areas surrounding Vernon Hills. The troop is affiliated with the Northeast Illinois Council – our roots starting back in 1961. The troop has a successful track record of numerous scouts earning Eagle Rank through - their hard work of course – and the various activities and support provided by this troop.
Our troop has many activities that allow our scouts to learn and live out the Scout Oath and Law - fostering the BSA vision of building our youth into conscientious, responsible and productive citizens. Through their scout journey our sincere hope is they build leadership skills that will last a lifetime – while having fun!
Scouts do this by participating in weekly Troop meetings held on Thursday evenings, monthly campouts, summer camps and the option of High Adventure camps provided by the BSA. Our leaders are trained and have a passion for scouting to ensure scouts have a safe environment.
